This week our children have been learning about the importance of Remembrance Day and why the poppy is such a special symbol. The children have been so engaged during our topic sessions and have really taken on board the meaning behind this day. They have been working so hard to create their own Poppies and to contribute to our beautiful school wreath. Today we marked the occasion with a 2-minute silence at the 11th hour. The children were so respectful and took a moment to think about all those who gave their lives to make sure we could live ours happily. We are so proud to gift our Poppy Wreath to our friends at Invicta Court Care Home – many of whom lived through wartime and have their own stories to share. Whilst we are still unable to visit, we send our Poppies with love and warm wishes to them on this special day.

We remember.
