From our first day of opening we will prepare our children for the next stage in their lives by focusing on delivering our Key Principles:
- Developing Independence
- Creating Collaborative Learning Experiences
- Encouraging Risk-taking
- Promoting Self-belief
- Developing Strong Communication Skills
- Ensuring Academic Achievement
We believe in building strong partnerships with parents and carers, working closely together to ensure all of our learners succeed. We will take pride in developing positive working relationships, not only between pupils and teachers, but also between the academy and home in order to achieve our aspirational values and vision.
Each day children will be welcomed by the Principal at the main gate on entrance to the school, and then greeted by their class teacher at the class door.
Playtime and lunchtime will be outside on the multi-use games area (MUGA) pitch, and within designated play spaces dependent on weather, e.g the sports field in the summer months. This will be supervised by teachers and teaching assistants on duty rota.
The timetable below is an outline of a typical day in Early Years. Discovery time will include short teaching times for phonics, literacy, maths, and topic. It also allows time for children to engage in independent tasks both inside and outside of the classroom, taking full advantage of the environment in order to explore and develop academically, physically, emotionally and socially.
Additional provision in the form of school clubs, such as dance, athletics and Lego club, will run for an hour after school on specific days, led by class teachers and the Principal.
