Academy DAY

Each day children will be welcomed by Academy staff at the main gate on entrance to the school, and then greeted by their Class Teachers and Teaching Assistants in the classroom.

Playtime and lunchtime will be outside on the multi-use games area (MUGA) pitch, and within designated play spaces dependent on weather, e.g the sports field in the summer months. This will be supervised by teachers and teaching assistants on duty rota.

Additional provision in the form of school clubs, such as dance, athletics and Lego club, will run for an hour after school on specific days, led by Class Teachers and other providers.

Assembly

Whole School Assemblies are held from 8:55am to 9:10am on a Monday (Personal development focus), Tuesday (Class – linked to Monday assembly), Wednesday (Focus of the week), Thursday (Singing) and Friday (Celebration Assembly).

Timetables

The KS1 and KS2 timetables will be adapted as appropriate to meet the learning needs of the pupils.

All pupils in KS1 and KS2 will have at least 2 hours of PE per week.

*Inquiry and discrete teaching 

• Inquiry – during these times the unit of inquiry will be explored and will include National Curriculum subjects.
• Discrete teaching – the teaching of National curriculum subjects in isolation.
