I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed Early Years Lead at Bearsted Primary Academy, and I am very excited to get started in September. I trained at Cambridge University – specialising in Early Years teaching, and since graduating I have had a wide range of experience teaching Nursery children through to Year 2. The opportunity to now be part of shaping a brand new school is extremely exciting, and one which I feel very lucky to have been given. I believe that strong Early Years education is fundamental to igniting a love and excitement for learning and I look forward to leading a talented and committed team at Bearsted who will inspire and challenge young minds. As well as class teaching, I feel strongly about promoting positive mental health and well-being in school, and in our wider community, and I will do my best to ensure that the children and families in our care are happy, supported, and understood. I look forward to meeting you all, and to working with you in the coming year.
I can’t wait to join Bearsted Primary Academy as I believe children should be nurtured as a whole in order to become confident learners. Previously, I worked as a TA and then went into the conservation sector as a Community Engagement Officer for Kent Wildlife Trust. I taught outdoor education to families and trained in Forest School, which is learner lead and nurtures and empowers children to build confidence and self esteem. I look forward to bringing these skills to support our children in our own forest school in September.
